How can I listen to mp3 files?
Files that have .mp3 extension can be listened using an mp3 player software. The most common mp3 player software is winamp.

So they rename .mp3 to .ps (or .zip, .bin, .class, etc) to prevent their music files from being deleted automatically by the server admins/owners. When you download a file with the .ps extension, try renaming the file to *.mp3 and then test it.

This is because there's no mp3 requests page, and never will be. Mp3INT.com is a search engine, it's not a peer to peer file sharing system, or a music trading software.

Why would i prefer a web search engine instead of napster? (or morpheus,etc)
Napster is a file sharing/trading software(and so is morpheus,etc) created to help users to exchange their files.Using Napster, you might have many unfinished downloads just because the user providing the file might disconnect,or stop the transfer (that's what usually happens to us). But mp3 files that are located on a web server do not disappear easily, and you encounter no problems like provider side disconnection, or too slow downloads. Anyway, it's for sure that you'll have to look for new solutions for your mp3 needs after noticing that you can't find any popular stuff on napster just because of the filtering system which is forced by music companies.

What about Gnutella? or cuteMX?
Gnutella and cuteMX are also peer to peer file sharing utilities, so the problems while downloading a file using napster may also be encountered while using gnutella or cuteMX. Also, all though none is known by now, these softwares/interfaces might cause security leaks (remember Gates telling about how secure was winblows?).

is .mp3 illegal?
.mp3 is a file format, and no file format can be classified as legal or illegal. The reason that the music companies hate .mp3 (and yell about it) is just because this format is commonly used for music files that are being shared/traded by users (why? think about compression ratios :) ).
